The Dragon Market: 12 Ways to Invest

To make investing approachable for younger readers, our Founder and President, Darren Lin, co-authored and helped illustrate a children's book that breaks down the fundamentals of the stock market into twelve simple, memorable lessons. Through a colorful story and approachable characters, "The Dragon Market: 12 Ways to Invest" introduces concepts like saving, risk, diversification, and long-term thinking.

During our outreach in Taiwan, we donated copies to more than 13 schools across rural communities — reaching over 2,000 students who otherwise had little access to financial literacy resources of their own. For many, it was their first look at how money grows and why informed decisions matter from an early age.

The book now anchors our broader literacy mission: a friendly first step that turns curiosity into the confidence students carry into our competitions and beyond.

Winning the SDGs Challenge

The Dollar Sense team earned recognition at the Global Citizens Innovative Solutions SDGs Challenge, an international competition that invites teams from around the world to build viable solutions to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Three of our board members — Ethan Chiu, Nathan Young, and Darren Lin — led the effort to win, presenting our work in Taiwan and focusing on the economic issues behind housing: affordability, access, and the financial forces that shape where people can live — and how financial literacy can be part of the answer.
